FAMILY AND FRIENDS.
Draco: Not to sound sappy and over the top, but her son is her life, her very reason for being and the motivation behind each of her actions and beliefs. She has very high expectations for and from him. Her desire to protect him is the only thing keeping her from using him as a confidante - though sometimes she does give in.
Lucius: Her beloved husband. Though she does not share everything with him, she does trust him more than most.
Bellatrix: Narcissa’s older sister, arguably the Dark Lord’s right hand. Bellatrix is so dedicated to the cause that Narcissa has to be careful what she says around her, lest she let slip that her family comes before the cause. There is no doubt in Narcissa’s mind that Bellatrix would easily kill her or her family if she believed it was for the Dark Lord’s Greater Good.
Andromeda: Narcissa’s other older sister, estranged. They were once close as children, but when Andromeda forsook the family to marry the Mudblood, she was disowned.
Danielle: Narcissa considers Danielle a very good friend.

PERSONALITY.
Narcissa is a very proud woman with snobbish tendencies and a stubborn streak a mile wide. She will not do anything she doesn’t want to do unless it serves her purpose - which obviously makes it something she wants to do. While she supports the Death Eater cause, and while she does not have a clear distaste for violence, she doesn’t much care for shedding blood herself, preferring to leave that aspect of daily life to others who enjoy such work. That way everyone is happy; they get to indulge in their sadistic tendencies and she gets to reap the benefits, or to watch, should the fancy strike her.

She has incredibly high standards and expectations that are only very seldom met - but when they are, she will sing your praises to anyone who will listen. For this reason, it is very difficult to garner Narcissa’s respect; one has to be exceptionally good at what they do. She will not stand incompetence. She is prejudiced and values wealth and blood purity above all else. Meaning that if you’re a Muggleborn, even if you have a fantastic operatic voice, she may listen to your music but will never admit it to anyone.

To most people, Narcissa looks like a cold woman whose only regards lie in her own self-interests. While she does believe in the importance of blood purity, she is and will always be opposed to the very idea of sacrificing herself, her son or her husband to the cause. Narcissa would do anything for her family - anything. Their safety is her motivation in everything. If that meant standing up to Voldemort, she would do it.

Narcissa is prim and proper. She always has perfect posture, never swears, and her movements and expressions are usually very meticulously calculated. Not one to be overly expressive, Narcissa generally looks impassive or else uninterested and unimpressed - mostly because she is. She has better things to do than to listen to you, whoever you are. Should she be impressed, annoyed or otherwise emotive, she does try to keep this fact from her face; as a manipulative woman, she knows how others can use such seemingly harmless information for their purposes. For this reason, she is quite obviously not very trusting of anyone.

With her new work as organizer of the victim’s charity started by the Ministry, Narcissa has to work on her public image and can frequently be found in front of the mirror practicing her smile in an attempt to make it seem at least marginally genuine. More often than not, this obligation tires and frustrates her, making her harder to deal with when out of the public eye, her temper flaring more often than it previously had.

APPEARANCE AND ALLIANCE.
Appearance:
Narcissa is tall and thin with long blond hair and blue eyes. She always stands with her back ramrod straight and walks with purpose, her head held high in a way that can best be described as haughty. Narcissa can appear cold-hearted to some, as very few people are worthy of her respect, and when she lets her guard down, she quickly reverts to her usual nature - that of a woman annoyed with everyone around her who does everything in a way that upsets her by their ignorance. She wears long, modest robes that are always clean.

How Does Your Character Feel About Their Alliance: Narcissa is not a Death Eater but a close supporter - her husband is Marked, and her sister is, for all intents and purposes, the Dark Lord’s right hand. Though she is not Marked herself, nor is she considered a Death Eater, Narcissa belives in Pureblood supremacy.

This, however, is not the only reason she is currently siding with the Death Eaters; they’re the ones in power. Had they lost the war and Voldemort died, she would have quickly sworn her allegiance to whoever boasted the most power at that moment, regardless of their beliefs or whether hers matched with them or not. Narcissa’s greatest motivator is her safety and that of her family. The smart thing to do with Voldemort in power is to take his side.

HISTORY.
Childhood and Hogwarts Years
Narcissa is the youngest daughter of Druella and Cygnus Black. Unlike her other sister who were dark haired and rather fierce, Narcissa was blonde and delicate, a perfect little china doll for her mother to dress up and parade around her high society friends. Frequently in this environment, Narcissa quickly grew confident and very much enjoyed her time at the functions her mother would attend.

But she missed her sisters dearly while they were away at Hogwarts and spent as much tim ewith them when they came home as they would allow. Narcissa looked up to both of her sisters and tried to impress them - which never really worked. Torn, she would watch her idols from a distance and continued going out with their mother, where she got near constant approval.

When she began school and was sorted into Slytherin, Narcissa walked the halls like she owned the place, trusting in the fact that Bellatrix and Andromeda would come to her rescue if anyone dared challenge her. And no one really did, possibly because they believed the same. As with her friends, Narcissa spent most of her time socializing, studying those subjects which she enjoyed and not much bothering with the rest. They weren't important anyway, and the professors teaching those classes knew her opinion on the matter. The Care of Magical Creatures professor could suck on a lemon, she quite honestly didn't care. Her favourite class, by far, was Divination. Not that she had any real divining powers, but Narcissa found the class particularly educational in the precise science of reading others - particularly the professor.

It was while she attended Hogwarts that Narcissa first became aware of Lucius Malfoy. He was a year older, but part of the same House, and exactly what she'd been trained to look for in a husband. She wasn't in love with the man, but well, he did have his appeal, and whenever they happened to be in the same room, Narcissa did her utmost to behave as the proper Pureblood wife should, perhaps in the hopes of impressing him. He never seemed to notice her however.

Post Hogwarts
Narcissa didn't have to work for a living - coming from a rich Pureblood family certainly had its perks. So while others moved on to working for various wizarding companies and Ministry departments, Narcissa returned to her parents' home and represented the Black family at social functions. This served the dual purpose of giving the family a good name and allowing her to shop around for suitable husbands.

It was at a function held by her own family (organized by her mother and herself) that Lucius finally approached her. Sparks didn't fly, but they got along well and when it was later suggested that he was the one she should marry, Narcissa contained her enthusiasm despite its intensity. They were wedded in 1975.

Five years later, Narcissa gave birth to Draco. It was the most horrific experience of her life, one she never wanted to go through again. So it was lucky for her Draco was a boy - he could be heir. But the pain of childbirth clearly did not diminish Narcissa's love for her son which went beyond anything Narcissa had ever known. Where she had previously been entirely self-serving and more than a little convinced that the world revolved around her, Narcissa's focus suddenly shifted to this little man. He quickly became her whole world, and more than anything she wanted to keep him safe. For years, she took him to social functions; her way of showing him off to the world, and obviously a good one, for he made quite a name of himself even before reaching Hogwarts.

Narcissa was so proud when he made Slytherin and frequently sent him treats and little notes to which she asked him to respond; her way of keeping up with him and doting on him throughout school where she couldn't do so in person. She was happy, everything was going fantastically well for her and her family.

But then one fateful night, the Dark Lord ordered Lucius to acquire a Prophecy. His subsequent failure proved to have horrific consequences culminating in the Dark Lord's giving Draco a mission he knew would be impossible to accomplish. Panicked, Narcissa went to the one man she believed might help her son; Severus Snape. She demanded he make an unbreakable vow to protect Draco and to complete the mission should Draco be incapable of doing it himself. Narcissa will forever be grateful to Severus for having done so.

The following year was filled with tension in the Malfoy home, the Dark Lord having chosen the manor as his base of operations, Narcissa knew, to keep the family under constant surveillance. He assigned Draco missions which he should never have had to complete on his own, being far too young and still in school, and Narcissa lived in constant fear that Draco would fail, as was inevitable, and that he would be killed. At home, meanwhile, a constant stream of Death Eaters visited the house and were given their own assignments while Lucius was left with nothing to do; he had lost his status as one of the Dark Lord's elites, and was never allowed a moment to forget it. That year, Narcissa came to fear Bellatrix on a personal level, convinced that if someone were to slip up, she would be the one to carry out a duty Narcissa wasn't convinced she would hesitate to undertake.

Post Takeover
Things have greatly improved since the Dark Lord's victory. The Manor is once again theirs, Draco has acquired a very respectable career in the Dark Lord's Ministry, everyone is still alive, Lucius is, though not one of His favourites, at least once again respected within the community, and she no longer lives in fear. Narcissa has been asked to head a charity for victims of terrorist attacks which helps the Ministry's image.
